The M&A International Media Awards are the first and only international media awards for journalists who have contributed in an outstanding way to the reporting and analysis of the global mergers and acquisitions market. This annual award was established to both recognize and encourage independent, professional journalism around the world in all languages. The M&A International Media Awards cover both international and local M&A, the big ticket deals and M&A in the rapidly growing middle market.

All journalists writing for internationally distributed print media in English as well as for leading business newspapers in their home countries in English or local languages can participate. Articles published by news agencies or electronic trade media will also be accepted excluding broadcast reporting (television or radio). The articles must be published in the 12 months to 30 June in the year of the awards. The number of entries is limited to three articles per journalist.

Winners of the 2007 M&A International Media Awards

"The great response to our second global M&A International Media Awards proves that we had the right idea at the right time. In total we received 223 articles submitted by 115 journalists from 24 countries, published in 76 media titles," noted Hans Bethge, Chairman of M&A International Inc. at the award ceremony in the Pavillon Gabriel near the Champs- Élysées, Paris.

"The M&A International Media Awards winners have provided an exciting and thorough insight into the global M&A market, and helped make a complex topic accessible to a larger readership. This requires not only intellectual sharpness of the author, but also the endurance to dive deep into a complicated matter and present a precise and interesting account to the reader."

The winners were selected by an independent international jury of M&A professionals, academics and senior journalists: Prof. Umberto Bocchino, Studio Bocchino (Italy); John Jay, New Star (UK); N.K. Misra, Tata Steel (India); Matthew Porzio, IntraLinks Inc. (USA); Raimon Segura de Lassaletta, Cuatrecasas (Spain); Howard E. Steinberg, McDermott Will & Emery (USA); Dr. Hong Zhang, Deutsche Bank Institute (China); Dr. Hans Bethge, M&A International Inc. (Germany); David Shirreff, The Economist (UK/Germany).
